競賽背景/Competition background
Urbanarium過往的概念競賽的主題“缺失中型（Missing Middle）”和“混合中型（Mixing Middle）”住房形式正在成為主流政策。這次Urbanarium的競賽將再次探討缺失的中型住房，聚焦在密度范圍的高端。
競賽內(nèi)容/Competition content
解碼密度（Decoding Density）是一項(xiàng)國際競賽，旨在通過解決當(dāng)今最現(xiàn)實(shí)的兩個問題：氣候變化和住房負(fù)擔(dān)能力，想象六層以上集合住宅形式的新可能性。參賽提案將挑戰(zhàn)規(guī)范和其他法規(guī)的約束。
六層高的木框架公寓樓正成為溫哥華大都會地區(qū)市政當(dāng)局的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，目的是提高密度。然而，探索這些公寓形式的設(shè)計(jì)師發(fā)現(xiàn)，規(guī)范和其他規(guī)定，再加上財(cái)務(wù)因素，最終產(chǎn)生了居民難以負(fù)擔(dān)的住房，且無法應(yīng)對氣候變化，難以提供戶外空間、光線、文化需求、公共空間和家庭特色。
